One of the family favourites for breakfast. This is something that can be quickly made.



  • 1 1/2 cup rava / seminola
  • 1 onion
  • 1 small tomato
  • 1 – 2 green chillies
  • curry leaves
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 2 tsp ghee
  • 5 cashew nut pieces (optional)
  • 5 raisins (optional)
  • salt
  • 3 cups water


Roast rava in pan till slightly golden. Take off heat immediately.
Roast cashew nuts in 1 tsp ghee. Then add raisins to same oil and roast.

Heat 1 tsp ghee in pan and sputter mustard seeds.
Add chopped onions and cook till soft. Add curry leaves and green chillies and stir for 2 minutes.
Add chopped tomatoes and stir for 3 minutes. Add cashew nuts and raisins.
Add salt and water. Bring to boil.

Add roasted rava and keep stirring continuously till dry.

Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
