Baked Fish Almondine

I thought that its time to try a different technique for baking fish and after searching the internet for the different varieties, came up with this recipe to make baked fish almondine. This style has a layer of almonds on top of the baked fish fillets. We had this dish along with french fries for lunch and it was good.

Generally this dish has bigger pieces of almond but I used almond powder. Its a matter of personal preference.

Baked Fish Almondine
Ingredients

  • 12 1/2 inch thick fish fillet (we used barramundi)

Marination ingredients

  • 1/2 a lemon’s juice
  • salt
  • pepper

Almondine ingredients

  • 1 cup almond powder (coarse)
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 a lemon’s juice
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Method

Clean the fish fillets and marinate with salt, pepper and lemon juice for about 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 230 degree Celsius.

Mix the almond powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, lemon juice and oil together.

Take a baking pan and put aluminium sheet on it. If you don’t have aluminium sheet, then you can brush oil on the pan before placing the fish.

Place the fish fillets on it with 1 inch distance between the fillets. On each fillet, place the almond mixture and press down so that it sticks to the fillet.

Bake for 10 minutes. If the fillets are thicker than 1/2 inch then bake longer.

Serve hot.

Notes

I had it with tomato sauce and french fries.
